A game where you're the victim!!

How to EGGexcute a perfect romance takes place in an early 2000s world where you-- yes, you--play as an undercover detective investigating a mafia front. You're forced to confront these hard earned criminals as an earnest rookie cop. On a good day you could call it a dark comedy...

This game was made during March for the 2025 NaNoReNo game jam and has ~10,000 words. It has three endings depending on which characters you pursue, so choose wisely ;)

The characters you'll be EGGxecuting a romance with are:

Kira Pavlov

Standoffish, sarcastic and easy to anger. They feel strongly on alot of subjects, choosing an imposing, callous and witty persona to deal with the daily horrors of their life. They so happen to be the right hand man to the boss, Viktor.

Jack

A charismatic yet obedient guarddog for the Pavlov family. He is fiercely protective of his family, but also happens to be very trusting and is easily fooled. He takes his job seriously, keeping his composure and braincells in check if the situation calls for it. But of course, the real mystery is whether he has a real last name or not.

Aside from our lovely duo of love interest, we offer up Viktor, the boss and Lotta the police chief. Two high ranking people in their own right. But who's in the wrong?WHO'S IN THE RIGHT? Why did they go to Disney in 1985? All questions answered in this short and sweet visual novel.

About the dev team

Hi, we are Kat and Ray of the Egg Team, both digital artists taking our first steps into game development. We can confidently say we spent a great deal of effort managing this project. We've never taken on something this big so we hope our combined skills were able to bring this story life. 

Ray - main artist

I'm Ray. Or rayospotted on youtube. I worked on the art for the sprites and intro. Ive always loved making characters but I've never written something like this or illustrated it. I hope i can at least entertain y'all with this vn.

Kat - main coder 

I'm Kat, or Swipage on tumblr (or Swipage on itchio, I guess). I worked mainly on coding for this project, but I'm also a visual artist in my own time. I hope this project holds up as my first longer project!!
